Team Dominican Republic and Haiti 2008!

Greetings Amazing Friends and Family!

PTL (praise the Lord) for the internet and blogs!

After over 7 months of preparation we are about to embark on a life changing trip and we are so excited to share and update you on all of our happenings.

Our overall mission is to serve as a medical team in several areas of the Dominican Republic (DR) and Haiti where medical aide is never a guarantee, consistent, or affordable. We will be conducting mobile medical clinics that will assess an array of medical problems present in both countries. If possible, we will medicate the patient to treat and hopefully relieve the patients ailments. But our primary goal is to provide health education for the patients for a life long treatment beyond medication. In addition to clinics, we will be holding two coordinated health teaching days.
During our month long trip, we will be visiting many different sites and coming in contact with many different people groups who, we pray, will see God's love for all of His people through our words and actions. In the DR, we will be serving the cities of Haina, Hato Mayor, and La Romana. Both Haina and Hato Mayor are surrounding cities of the capital city, Santo Domingo. In Haiti, we will be serving and staying at a Christian university in the town of Limbe that is near Cape Haitian.

We are all so excited to serve in the name of Christ who has loved us and commissioned us to serve His people. We would not have been able to be on this journey without any of our friends and family who have made us all exactly who we are today. One of our biggest priorities is to represent all of you the best way we can as a symbol of our gratitude for being such a blessing and essential part of our lives. Thank you for your support throughout this journey. We hope that this blog will serve as a comfort measure during our time apart but most of all, give you the opportunity to see how God is working in our lives and everyone we come in contact with.

Love and blessings,
Team Dominican Republic and Haiti 2008

P.S. Here is our team verse!

Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV)
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
