Week 2
Hola once again peeps. So week 2 has officially come to a close and, dude, what a week! While we all did pretty well the first week I guess our stomachs decided they were over cooperating--everyone stomach except Zak´s that is.
Once again, being down here is weird because the days go by slow but the weeks fast...if that makes any sense. So far the clinics have gone really well. Since last Monday we´ve been able to do clinics at 9 batey´s which has been a totally amazing experience. I´m so glad we´re able to be in the same place for longer than a few days. It has given us a chance to get really emmersed in what we´re doing and to take in a lot more than we would be able to in a shorter amount of time. To say the least it has definitely given me a lot to process.
Being here for a while has also given us a chance to really connect with our hosts as well as a few different missionaries and other team members. Most of our interpreters are young Domincan guys who are in this marangae band that´s pretty off the hook. The first night Chiwi (Chirapone) got here we took her to one of their concerts at a nearby church. The next night we offically embraced Dominican culture and went to hear one of the lead singers at a resort nearby. All I can say is--team DR´s got moves yo--especially Chiwi!!! We are particularly good at group-Bob-Marley dancing!!!
As we move into this next week with the Haiti border crossing only a few days away we´d really appreciate--scratch that: we really NEED your prayers. I´m not going to lie, there are a lot of feelings flying around. Pray that wisdom and courage will go with us this week!!!
Much love,
Marica aka Panchita ;-)

Glad to hear you guys are doing so well, especially in the clinics!! Just wanted to share a few Bible verses that spoke to me, while I was reading for this blog ;)
Psalms 27:1- The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Isaiah 40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Team- you are doing amazing things in the lives of every person you are helping and fixing... Keep up the great work, and continue to feel God's grace & love upon you, and share it with the multitudes!!

Hi Team DR,
Just wanted you to know that where ever you are today, hopefully over the border into Haiti, Gods promises are true. I am so excited to hear of what God is going to do thru you because you know when the opposition increases it is because the Spirit of God is working. I love the verses Samantha sent you and I am sure you know Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Be fearless filled with faith. Many are holding you up in prayer and God will complete the good work he started when he called you to serve on this mission. Im missin ny girl and can't wait to see you all.
All of God's blessings and protection.
Paquitas Mom
